• Heat Treatment

Washing your bedding and clothes in hot temperatures is an effective way of killing bed bugs naturally. Bed bugs die when their body temperature is over 113° Fahrenheit. Exposing the bugs for an hour to temperatures higher than these can kill all bed bugs including bed bugs eggs successfully. Simply gather affected bedding, clothing, and other fabrics and wash it in hot water for 30 minutes. After that put them in a dryer on the highest possible heat setting for at least another 30 minutes. 

• Cold Treatment

Temperature is truly an effective way to get rid of bed bugs. If there is a heat treatment then there is a cold treatment that you can use as well to eliminate bed bugs infestation in your house.

Cold Treatment will only work if the freezer is set to 0°F. Simply place all the affected items in a sealed bag in the freezer at  0°F for 3 to 4 days in order for the cold to penetrate an item and kill all the bugs and its eggs. Use a thermometer to check the temperature daily just to make sure that the temperature stays at 0°F, 

• Pest Control

If you’re considering using chemicals to get rid of bed bugs then it’s better that you hire a professional bed bug exterminator than do it on your own. Since insecticides that are available to the public are often not strong enough to be effective. Pest control companies have the advantage of using chemicals and other treatments that are not easily available in the market for consumers. 

In this case, it is best to involve a registered pest controller.

The first thing that you should do when hiring a pest control is to take a photo of the bug and share it with them so that they can easily identify what type of bug is causing the problem. The Pest Control team will then evaluate your bed bug infestation and make a plan to remove all bugs in your home. They may start with non chemical methods and then use pesticides if these do not work.
