Why Reflective Film Is a Smart Move?

What You’ll Need

Spray bottle filled with soapy water (a drop of dish soap is enough)
Squeegee or credit card

Measuring tape
Lint-free cloth or paper towels
Masking tape (optional)

Step 1: Clean the Glass (Like Really Clean It)

Don’t rush this. Dirt or dust will cause bubbles or stop the film from sticking. Spray the window with soapy water and wipe it down thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. Get into the corners. If there's any gunk, scrape it off with a razor blade. Then clean it again—better safe than sorry.

Step 2: Measure and Cut the Film

Measure your window and cut the film slightly larger than the glass—about an inch extra on all sides. After it’s on the window, you’ll trim it to fit perfectly. If your film has a backing, leave it on for now.

Step 3: Wet the Window

Spray the window again with your soapy water. Be generous—this helps the film slide around a bit so you can position it perfectly before it sticks.

Step 4: Peel and Stick

Carefully peel the backing off the film (masking tape can help start the edge). As you peel, spray the sticky side of the film with more soapy water. This keeps it from sticking to itself and gives you some wiggle room. Place the wet, sticky side of the film against the window. Start at the top and work your way down, letting the water hold it in place.

Step 5: Smooth It Out

Using a squeegee or a credit card wrapped in a soft cloth, gently push the bubbles and water out from the center toward the edges. Take your time here—this is what makes the difference between a clean look and a bubbly mess.

Step 6: Trim the Edges

Once everything looks smooth and straight, use your utility knife to carefully trim the extra film around the edges. Press it into the corners with your squeegee and check for any last bubbles.

Step 7: Let It Set

Don’t mess with it. The film needs a few days to fully dry and bond to the glass. Avoid opening or cleaning the windows during this time.
